Holiness To The Lord

I had the most wonderful experience yesterday! I had the opportunity to drive down to the Portland Temple with a dear friend. I love visiting the Temple. The Portland Temple has become my favorite place in the Northwest!

There is nothing like the Temple. I always feel like I am home as soon as I drive into the parking lot. I love the peace that penetrates the heart until it fills the entire soul. The Temple is a place where I can contemplate the gospel and feel the love of my Heavenly Father. The Temple is so neat. You can hear the freeway noise, but it doesn't even disturb the peace. In fact, I think the freeway noise helps me realize the peace of the Temple. I love thinking in analogies, and the Temple is the place to look for symbols and analogies of how things testify of Christ.

I had the opportunity to go inside to perform baptisms for the dead yesterday. While my friend and I were sitting inside, I could feel the Spirit so strongly that I almost cried. I wanted to cry, but tears never came. I always feel happy going to the Temple. I always think clearer on the Temple grounds. I can't wait to get married in the Temple! I feel very grateful to have a Temple so close that I can drive there in about half an hour. Many, many people in the world have to travel days just to visit the nearest Temple. To me, that testifies how important the Temple is.

Have a great day!

Oh man my friend! I'm going in to get my endowments in a little over a month. It's so exciting. There will be all these new symbols and things to learn all at once. I can't believe it! I'm sure it will feel a little overwhelming, but I'm excited that I'll get my endowments a month before I get married, so I'll have a few times to go through. This is the neatest experiance though.

You're right, the temple is the best place on earth... especially the Portland temple. I'm so grateful to go! I've loved all the times you and I have gone together. We've learned so much!

I love you dearly!
